We at Universal Pathways welcome you to explore the ancient celebration of Beltane. It involves ways of honoring the reawakening of the land. This is our remembering to be grateful to the earth for providing and sharing what we need to sustain life. We are blessed, but all to often we take the gifts for granted.
Beltane is a symbolic celebration with traditional music and dance and the Maypole with its crown of flowers and colored steamers. In the dance around the Maypole the streamers are woven into a pattern representing the pattern or design of life. In the end all the streamers touch each other.
Our world has experienced many periods of misuse, and humanity has paid dearly for it’s greed and maltreatment. We have been granted an opportunity in this period of separation from all we have called normal. It is a time when we are able to review all we have taken for granted, or perhaps, felt entitled to. Can we as individuals and collectively get to a point where we can co-create a simpler sustainable way of life so the world can continue in a balanced and shared life for all. Can we relearn and celebrate the earth in its great diversity, trees, animals, water, air, as well as diverse humanity, for what it is, precious beyond recognition. Or will we continue to assign a monetary value to it all, take what we want because we can, and shortly become the next dinosaurs and become the subject of study for our replacement.
These are our choices. Take this great quiet opportunity to think creatively. What do you choose?
I offer the wise words of Chief Seattle 1854:
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together, all things connect.”
We welcome your thoughts.
Harm to none,
